FAQ

WHAT DOES THE BAND PROVIDE?

The band must provide their instruments and anything they need to make them work. This includes instrument cables and amplifiers. The band must also provide a space for recording.

WHAT IF WE WANT A SHORTER RECORDING SESSION?

Recording sessions are booked by the day only. You may choose to use as much of the 10 hours provided, or as little time as you would like.

WHAT KIND OF SPACES ARE SUITABLE?

Most spaces can be suitable for recording. However, the space needs to be quiet and free from outside noise, and it is best to have a larger room like a living room that has soft furniture, carpets, book cases, etc. to help dampen the space.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO WE NEED TO BOOK?

Booking depends entirely on availability. While you can book for the next day, it is better to book up to a week in advance.

HOW MANY SONGS CAN WE TRACK IN A DAY?

This entirely depends on you. There is no limit to the number of songs we can record, however a quality product takes time. Some bands will spend an entire day on one song, others may want to track as many as possible.

WHAT IS THE RECORDING PROCESS LIKE?

The recording process is different for every project, however it would look very similar to recording in a full studio. A rough take can be performed off the floor, followed by solo takes and overdubs. Then we can punch in any necessary corrections.

WHAT DO WE RECEIVE AT THE END OF THE DAY?

At the end of a recording session you will receive consolidated multitracks and a rough mix of each song recorded that day. The rough mix will be a stereo file that represents where recording finished on that day and does not represent a final mix. You can send the multitracks to another mixer, mix it yourself, or make use of my mixing services.
